Those who choose to sail the Ionian Sea are often drawn to its tranquility and natural beauty. Starting from Lefkada, sailors can easily reach several stunning islands like Ithaca and Kefalonia in just a few hours. The distances between the islands are short, ensuring favorable sea conditions most of the time. In the summer, the prevailing northwest wind picks up in the afternoon but typically dies down by evening, with only occasional exceptions. From May to October, strong winds from the south or east are a rarity.
